Located at the corner of Spring and West Streets, the Manhattan 1/2/5 Garage and Salt Shed complex serves as a high-tech gateway to the SoHo waterfront. The facility utilizes a sophisticated run-around coil heat recovery system to capture thermal energy from its massive exhaust vents, pre-conditioning incoming air to slash the energy needed to heat the 425,000-square-foot truck depot. This engineering feat, combined with its sculptural concrete salt storage, transformed industrial infrastructure into a LEED Gold-certified architectural landmark.
