Edenwald Houses

Project Highlight:

This project was a full electrification of a NYCHA complex, eliminating the central boiler plant and installing a Daikin MegaQ system at each of the 12 buildings. Each building now runs off its own all-in-one electrified skid — a pre-built unit packed with pumps and digital controls — allowing the entire complex to operate completely fuel oil and gas free.

The Edenwald Houses is the largest public housing complex in the Bronx, composed of 40 residential buildings ranging from 3 to 14 stories across a sprawling 49-acre campus. Defined by its modern red brick facade and original casement windows, this mid-century complex earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places while serving as a model for community-scale electrification.
