Originally completed in 1986, with a major $1.5 billion expansion in 2021, the Javits Center is Manhattan's premier venue for large-scale trade shows and conventions. The facility features a massive 6.75-acre "living roof" that serves as a high-tech urban farm and a critical sanctuary for over 35 species of migratory birds — producing 40,000 pounds of crops annually and using a specialized "fritted" glass facade to reduce bird collisions by 90 percent.
