Commissioned by Related Companies and Oxford Properties and delivered in 2019, 55 Hudson Yards is a 780-foot office tower distinguished by its matte-black metal "gunmetal" facade inspired by the cast-iron architecture of SoHo. The project, designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox and Kevin Roche John Dinkeloo and Associates, utilized a post-tensioned concrete flat slab system — a rarity for New York commercial high-rises — to provide column-free corners and 12-foot ceilings across 1.3 million square feet.
